What is a factor, or factor pair?

A factor (or factor pair) is a number that another number is divisible by.  For example, 6 is a factor of 12, because 6x2=12, or 12÷6=2.  So the factor pair would be 6 and 2.

All of the factors of 12 would be 1,2,3,4,6, and 12.
