What is the Piedmont region?
These two rivers mark the boarders of Georgia and empty out into the gulf and Atlantic Ocean.

This is the largest region of Georgia. It has good land for farming and a large amount of the state's crops are grown here. The climate of the region is hot and humid.
What is the Coastal Plain?
This separates the Piedmont region from the Coastal plains region.

These lines run vertically across the globe.
What are lines of longitude?
This region is located in the north-west corner of Georgia. It is the coldest region. It is not a farming area because the soil is acidic. People who live there now are in the carpet business but they used to mine coal and iron ore.
What is the Appalachian Plateau?
These features are located in the Coastal Plain region of Georgia. They protect the mainland coastal zone of Georgia from the Atlantic Ocean. They are constantly being reshaped by winds, currents, and tides.
What are the barrier islands?
This line separates the Northern Hemisphere from the Southern Hemisphere and is a line of latitude.
What is the equator?
This region is located in the north-eastern corner of Georgia. This region receives the most rainfall out of all the regions. Mining is a large part of this regions economy. It is known for it's beautiful mountains.
What is the Blue Ridge region?
This is the largest fresh water swamp in North America. It is located in the Coastal Plain region. It is home to many wild-life and plant-life.

SWAMP?
This line separates the eastern hemisphere from the western hemisphere and is a line of longitude.
What is the prime meridian?
This region is in the north-west part of Georgia. It is made up of river valleys and thick forests. There is a long growing season because of it's temperate weather.
What is the valley and ridge region?
This is commonly called Georgia's "little Grand Canyon." It is located in the south-western part of the state. This feature of Georgia was caused by erosion due to poor farming techniques.
