Government is broken down into these three levels (not branches).

Who prosecutes crime for the state or district?
Define petition and explain why they are effective.
A petition is a written request signed by many people asking those in power to make a change. They can be on paper or online. They show leaders that many people support the change.

What is the difference between a town and a city?
A town is smaller than a city, has its own local government, and usually covers a wider area than a city with fewer people. A city is a large, densely populated area with its own local government
Who represents the judicial branch at a local level?
The town and volunteer police and county/local court system.
What is lobbying?
Lobbying is when people talk to leaders or lawmakers directly to persuade them to make a change or support a law. It can be done in person, by phone, email, or through organized campaigns.

What is a village?
A community within a town that has its own local government and provides some services to its residents.
What does a county comptroller do or oversee?
The county comptroller is like the “money manager” for the county. Their main job is to keep track of how the county’s money is spent and make sure everything is done honestly and correctly.
