What is first person point of view?
When you are reading from the characters perspective (Ex: I, Me, We, Us).

Older man from the gym that challenged the narrator in basketball.

What is second person point of view?
When the author is writing the story to you. (You, your, you're).
Why is basketball so important to the narrator?
It was a way out of poverty for him.
What is a topic sentence?
A sentence with a claim that shows what the paragraph is going to be about / the answer to the question being asked.

What was the relationship between the narrator and his dad?
Strained, not close, sad.

"Direct Quote" (Last name, #).
What is a Complex character?
A character that dramatically changes though out a story.
What does third person point of view take away from the reader?
The inner thoughts of the main characters.

He likes to act tough, but really did care about the kid.

Explaining/support for your evidence and claim

Just because people do not say a lot of words to you, doesn't mean that they don't care. It is how they show up that shows they care.
