Why was the Yazoo Land system declared a fraud
Positive effects of the Cotton Gin
Profitable, economically the cotton gin helped out a lot and the production of cotton became a whole lot easier.
William McIntosh betrayed his own people. Why?
The U.S and its efforts to obtain cessions of Creek territory alienated him in exchange for money and land.
The Dahlonega Gold Rush and Worchester v. GA
Started in 1829, many miners moved west to mine the newly discovered gold.
A case in which the S.C vacated the conviction of Samuel W. that prohibited non-native Americans from being present on native american lands in 1832 without a license.
Why did the capital move west so many times?
To keep close to the population the capital moved with the majority of the population.
The Headright system gave land to...
Men who did/ didn't fight in the war and men with large families, a bonus to families with slaves!
What were the negative affects of the Cotton Gin
The taking of native land and the high demand for slaves, the expansion of slavery.
How exactly did William betray and give away the land of his own people and what was the consequence.
He signed away all Indian territory and he was executed in his own plantation home.
Trail of tears...
Forced relocation of the Cherokee nation, the natives were forces to relocate several times west to "designated" native territory.
Who did UGA welcome
Everyone! Including colored students and women!
How did these systems impact GA
Much GA land was lost, there was a lot of conflict, the land wasn't distributed equally/fairly.
What do the Creek and Cherokee have to do with the cotton gin?
The cotton gin production increased therefor the demand for slaves did too and the need for more land meant taking away the natives land.
How did this play apart in the removal of the Creek and Cherokee Indians
William McIntosh played a part in giving away the land of his own people simply for materialistic things. He contributed in taking away the homes of people who have lived for centuries on this land, but because they have weapons and soldiers the natives have no say.
How did these all cause the removal of the Cherokee
All of these led to the removal because each action led to more and more land being taken away from the Cherokee. The more and more land that got taken away left little land for the Cherokee to stay. Until finally the trail of tears occurred where 17,000 natives were forced to leave their home behind.
