Passage: The Case of the Missing Lunchbox

Lily was excited for school today because it was field day. She had packed her favorite lunch—turkey and cheese sandwich, carrot sticks, and a chocolate chip cookie. During morning recess, she left her lunchbox on the bench by the playground while she played soccer with her friends. When the bell rang, Lily ran back to the bench, but her lunchbox was gone. She looked around, but it was nowhere to be found.

The Duck, the Muskrat, and the Otter

Once upon a time, in a peaceful forest pond, there lived a Duck, a Muskrat, and an Otter. They were good friends and spent their days splashing, swimming, and searching for food.
