Church of England/Anglican Church
Ruler who wanted to leave his wife Katherine and marry Anne Boleyn, so he started the Church of England when the Pope wouldn’t grant an annulment. The creation of a new church made the King of England the head of the church instead of the Pope, and made the Pope no longer sovereign as far as decisions about colonies with England.
