It is the state law and Serendipity has to follow the law

Clean your dishes (and put away ingredients)
What are expectations for standing in line?
Keep body to self, low volume, school appropriate conversations
What are some activities you can do in Room 113?
Complete schoolwork, read, play a quiet game, check in with staff, etc.
What are benefits to turning in your phone?
- Special incentives and surprise celebrations at school or home.
- More learning which helps you get credits to graduate
-You don't have to listen to anyone hassle you about turning in your phone
Is the hallway an appropriate place to take a break?
The hallway is not a place to take a break. You can take a break in the courtyard, breezeway, go for a walk, use the zen den or calming room
What is appropriate movement in the Life Skills room?
Walking feet, hands and body to self (no horseplay), use equipment appropriately and safely
What are some expectations for the salad bar?
- Use tongs or spoons to handle food (NEVER YOUR HANDS)
- Only take a reasonable amount of food (a healthy amount that you will probably be able to eat)
- Clean up after yourself if you make a mess
- Ask kitchen staff kindly if you need a refill
How can you help keep Room 113 clean?
Put materials away after you have used them, clean up after yourself- put trash in the trash
What will happen if you don't turn in your phone or other device?
If you continue to struggle with not turning in your device the vice principal will call home and set up a meeting to make a plan to turn in your device.
How can we keep our hallways clean?
- Use objects for their intended purpose (writing materials stay in the classroom and should be used on paper)
- If you make a mess clean it up. Pick up any trash.
- Don't cause damage
When can you come cook in the life skills room?
After asking staff and checking the schedule, when staff says it is okay
What time can you ask the kitchen for seconds?
After 12:30
If another group needs the room or a staff needs the room while you are in there, what should you do?
Go back to class or come up with a plan to take a break somewhere else
How does turning in your phone or other device help you at school?
It keeps you from being distracted so you can learn more and get credits to graduate
What should you do before you leave the classroom?
Communicate with your staff and get approval before leaving the room
What is an ingredient that is available for use? What if you want to use something that is not available?
Available ingredients: 2 eggs, bread, butter, tortillas, cheese, frozen fruit, milk, juice
For other ingredients: Ask staff and make a plan
What should you do with your plate, milk, and silverware when you are finished eating?
Scrape your plate so any uneaten food goes into the compost
Throw other non-washable items into the trash
Put your silverware in the red tub
Put your plate in the dish pit
