Who is Gossip?
This category of the CHECKMATE system is used for Shifters who can change aspects of themselves
What is Evolver?
While some people found the distinction between these two ability-wielding groups useful, others found the second term to be a bit too derogatory
What are starlit and darklit?
If it weren't for this now-disbanded agency's deficiency, a certain other group devoted to handling major threats in the Close Multiverse may never have formed
What is the Dimensional Defense Agency (DDA)?
While this dog may be one of the happiest characters in all of Valor, his name being a shortened version of the name of a past pet of the same character does give him a sad aspect
Who is Ley?
Sometimes an NPC is created just to bully a player character – it's all about the drama
Who is Showstopper?
This is the category of the CHECKMATE system used to classify Glu10's ability
What is Evoker?
While Common Philosophy was certainly a widespread practice in the First Universe, it was never quite thought of in the same sense as the word that would later be used to describe how its main categories appeared in the Close Multiverse
What are Divines?
This Doomsday Catastrophic caused the most casualties among those who came to fight it
What is Raze?
They say that three heads are better than one... but two suffice for this pet
Who is Cerberus?
Maybe we all should stop trying to make this NPC happen
This category of the CHECKMATE system is the least represented among player characters
What is Transformer?
While it's sword of difficult to say that a group of three was much of a defense force, the group that Eclipse led in defending the city made their headquarters at this building
What is the Shield?
While the Maw didn't cause enough damage to make it in history books of its own accord, it did represent the first time that these two powerful Shifter leaders collaborated
Who are Legion and Mastermind?
Pets come in many shapes and sizes, as this particularly large and inorganic one proves
Who is Sir Jitneybot?
This NPC may not have been real, but that didn't stop them from giving a player character a strong reputation
Who is Mori?
This category of the CHECKMATE system would be used to classify someone who can control animals
What is Manipulator?
While the Twilight might have been the source of abilities in the First Universe, this group, whose name takes some inspiration from the phenomenon, sought to find a more definite way to make them appear
What is the Dawn Project?
It was around this many years ago multiverse time that tracking multiverse time became even more difficult than it once was
What is 12,000 years?
While this pet does not age, that doesn't mean it can't get bigger, if its owner requests it
Who is Jelly?
While it might not shock you to hear now, this NPC never actually got the acknowledgement in the story of Valor that the writer originally thought that they might when they were introduced before the first installment
Who is Surge?
This category of the CHECKMATE system tends to have an advantage when going up against powerful Kingmakers... at least, most of the time
