On August 29, 2008, the Hubbard Act was enacted as Public Law 110-317. The Hubbard Act amended the eligibility categories for veterans' preference purpose by adding subparagraph (H) to 5 U.S.C. 2108(3)

What is Sole Survivorship Preference

200

5 Points are added to the passing examination score or rating of a veteran who served During a war, or during the period April 28, 1952 through July 1, 1955

What is (TP)

300

10 Points added to passing examination score or rating of a veteran who served at any time and who has compensable service-connected disability rating of at least 10 percent but less than 30 percent

What is Compensable Disability Preference (CP)

400

Ten points are added to the passing examination score or rating of a veteran who served at any time and who has a compensable service-connected disability rating of 30 percent or more

What is 30 Percent Compensable Disability Preference (CPS)

500

ten points added to the passing examination score or rating of a veteran who served at any time and has a present service-connected disability or is receiving compensating, disability retirement benefits, from military or VA, but does not qualify as a CP or CPS, or has received a Purple Heart
