Empathize
Is being fully engaged while another person is talking to you. It is listening with the intent to understand the other person fully, rather than listening to respond.
Active Listening
Is the art of assessing a situation and making deliberate choices about how to handle it. It requires the willingness to see the problem from beginning to end.
It is also the mindset of “I am going to do everything that’s possible for this member.” rather than “There’s nothing more that I can do.”
