What is a community college?

A two-year educational institution, at which a student can earn an Associate's degree.  Community colleges have direct transfer agreements (DTA) with both public & private universities, allowing a student to smoothly transition from a two-year to a four-year institution.

Pre-CCC = 8-9th grade 

CCC = 9-11th grade (11th graders are eligible ONLY if they are planning to take a gap year)

Who is Lost & Found for?

Lost & Found is for any prospective undergraduate students who

1) approached EducationUSA Russia for help with less than one year to prepare. Russia

2) was not accepted to CCC, but wishes to work closely with EducationUSA.

No.  Parents' Meeting offers events for all parents of prospective undergraduate students.

Is EducationUSA Russia an affiliate of the American Center?

No.  However, we both used to rent space in the Library of Foreign Literature; and, thus, have a longstanding relationship.

How long do I need to have been in GSAp to apply for Opportunity Funding?

9 months minimum

What benefit does Pre-CCC offer the participant?

Pre-CCC is a one-year English language program to help motivated students with a desire to earn a bachelor's degree in the U.S. an opportunity to develop the skills they will need to be successful in the Competitive College Club.  Participation in Pre-CCC is not a guarantee of acceptance to CCC.

Where do Parents' Meetings take place and how often?

They take place in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and online four times per year.

Minimum 7 days.  We recommend completing the program withn 30 days.

What does the application process consist of?

First Round: online application, one-page essay in English, transcript from the previous academic year


Second Round: online interview in English


Note: around 35 applicants accepted every year.  Last year there were 119 candidates.

Can parents of prospective graduate students participate?

The program is designed for parents of prospective undergraduate students; however, some of the information provided would be useful to parents of prospective graduate students as well.  

Certainly, the community atmosphere will be a benefit to all parents.
