Why is Western Washington rainy with mild weather while Eastern Washington is more of a desert?
Please write and explanation AND draw a diagram for your response.
Answers may vary!
Western WA is rainy due to the large amount of precipitation coming off of the Pacific Ocean. This precipitation gets trapped by the tall Cascades mountains and overs over areas like Seattle. The Cascades block most of that precipitation from reaching Western WA which causes desert-like conditions.
