Basic Weather
What are the four different kinds of weather boundaries or fronts?
cold, warm, stationary, occluded
This is the by-product of the earth's rotation which adds acceleration and direction to any moving object including wind.
the Coriolis Effect
A boundary between 2 air masses, one cold and one warm, where warm air rises up and over the cold
A Warm Front
This is what happens when a warm front and a cold front meet in the atmosphere and neither one is strong enough to move the other.
A Stationary Front
What do we call a fast flowing, narrow air current? It guides storms, steers temperature patterns and influences storm severity
a Jet Stream
A warm air mass surrounded by two cooler air masses, making weather cloudy, rainy, or snowy.
An Occluded Front
