What is a thesis statement is broader and shows the main idea of the entire essay. A topic sentence gives the main idea of a paragraph.
There are four types of sentences. Three of them have words I have given you to help with remembering them. What are those three words and explain how they help define.
Declarative--(declares) or makes a statement
Interrogative (interrogates) or asks a question
Imperative-Makes a command
Exclamatory (exclaims) or shows emotion
