This is usually the first sentence of a paragraph and tells the reader what to expect.

Guessing the meaning of a text or something in a text based on prior knowledge and context.

Words with similar meanings.
What is an advantage?
What is the difference between a topic sentence and a concluding sentence?
Topic sentences identify the subject of the paragraph and occur at the beginning. The concluding sentences summarize the main points of the paragraph.

What is the difference between a descriptive adjective and a non-descriptive adjective?
Descriptive adjectives are more specific and make the text or speech more interesting with rich details.
