Alike: They can both be positive and negative numbers, and be written as fractions or decimals. Different: Integers are whole parts of numbers (-2,-1,0,1,2) where as rational numbers include all of parts in between (1.1,1.2,1.3) (1/2, 3/4, 5/7)
