On the traditional route go down the side of HAAS, go up the bridge by 4.0 hill, watch out for Campanile steps.

Talk about the history/purpose of your surroundings, talk about a topic you can walk/talk to (internships, transportation, student life etc), ask vistors questions, talk about something relevant that you experienced in the area

If you cannot work an assigned shift, what are the proper steps to find a sub? What should you do if you cannot get a sub for your tour/shift?


It's your responsibility to find a replacement. Drop your shift on TRS --> email the tour sub request email --> post it on SLACK --> text other guides that show up as available personally. Always keep Erin updated if its an emergency! (ALL STEPS IN MANUAL)

What do you do when you have an unruly visitor within your tour group?

  • On a GCT, ask the responsible adult to handle the problem, tell them you will end the tour if the behavior continues. If you must end the tour, return to Sproul and notify staff

  • If a member of the public joins your group and becomes disruptive, call the UCPD non-emergency number (510) 642-6760 for assistance
