How should you enter the classroom? 

Walk in quietly, safely, and respectfully.  No running, no pushing, put the back pack front of room or on the back table.

What is your first responsibility when coming into the classroom? 

Begin the Bell Activity. When done, return to the classroom tray unless directed otherwise by the teacher.

Why shouldn't you talk when your teacher or your fellow peer is talking?

It shows disrespect and it means you are not listening.

When can students begin to get ready to leave the class?

When the teacher instructs that the 2 minute alarm has gone off, students can walk quietly, safely, and respectfully to obtain their backpacks and put away all their materials &  supplies. If you borrowed supplies from the teacher be sure you return them. 

Be sure your NAME is on all assignments.Turn in all assignments to the class tray, be courteous, be polite. 

Return to your seat, be sure your area is clean around you, push in the chair, and wait to be released by the teacher.

Who is responsible for make-up work if you have an excused absence? And, how many days do you have to make up classwork? 

I am (the student) responsible for make-up work. And, I have two (2) days for each day absent to make up classwork.

Is food allowed in the classroom? Are drinks allowed in the classroom? 

No, food is not allowed in the classroom. No, drinks are not allowed in the classroom.  Water bottles with water only are allowed.

Where should chrome books be stored? 

Chromebooks should be placed in your back pack, in the chrome book cart, or one of the back tables.  We will use the chrome books only when directed by the teacher.

When can students stand up or leave their desk during class time? 

Students do not stand up nor leave their desk during class time unless presenting or answering a discussion question. If given teacher approval, students can leave their desk after raising their hand to ask permission.

What do I do if I receive a warning card from the teacher? 

You must remain when class is dismissed to talk with the teacher for 2-3 minutes to discuss the consequences of your actions and any subsequent actions you are required to do.

When are cell phones or other electronic devices available to use in the classroom?

The use of cell phones, music players, video games, smart watches, and all other electronic devices by students are not allowed during classroom time, unless authorized by the teacher for educational purposes.

Where should cell phones be stored when in the classroom?

In your backpack, or, the cell phone storage pocket on the wall. The ringer should be turned off. 

If they are visible or used, they will confiscated and taken to the office for students to pick up on the first offense.

What do I do if I the teacher has given approval to leave the room during class time? 

Write your name on the Check Out/Check In Log. Be sure have name, date, time, reason (e.g. nurse, office, restroom) on the log.

What should you do if you finish your work early?

-Read, write, color, or draw quietly.

-Work on any missing work for this class or other classes. 

-If no missing work, given approval by the teacher, you can work on the chrome book.

When do I return my chrome book? 

All students are required to return their chrome book to their homeroom at the end of each school day. It is the student's responsibility to connect to recharge. Inability to follow this rule, students can lose the privilege of using a school chrome book.

When can hats and sunglasses be worn at school? 

Headgear, hats, other head coverings (including hoodies), and sunglasses are not allowed to be worn in classrooms / buildings during class time.

How should I sit in my chair when in the classroom or while in study hall?

I will sit correctly in my chair with my feet and legs forward under the desk and have all four chair legs on the floor to prevent accidental physical harm to myself and to others.

What should students do when class has begun? 

Students should listen quietly, participate, and give their best effort.

When can students talk in the classroom? 

When students raise their hand and the teacher has called on them to respond. 

When you work in pairs or in groups talking in a quiet volume discussing the class assignment.  

Students should not be talking when the teacher or their peers are talking on the class subject.

How do we prevent physical harm to others when using classroom doors to enter or leave the classroom?

1. We do not try to hold the door closed or slam the doors closed. 

2. We do not kick the doors open. 

3. We do not use aggression when opening or closing the classroom doors.

What are 2 ways you could be responsible and respectful on the school bus?

Follow all school bus rules and regulations found in the Student Handbook.  

Let the primary school children get on the bus and be seated before getting on the bus.

What is the most important expectation for the class and what does it mean? 

Mutual respect - It means we talk and work with one another cooperatively and respectfully having personal responsibility for success in learning.

Respect teachers, substitutes, staff, peers (other students), administrators, and all school property and equipment.

When are chrome books utilized during class? 

For instructional purposes only, when instructed to use by the teacher.  If playing video games, chrome books can be taken away for the class period or the day, at the discretion of the teacher.

How do you show a group member you are listening to what they say?

1. Stop writing, stop what you are doing

2. Make eye contact

3. Be quiet and listen attentively.

Can I be in the computer room when the teacher is not in the room?  

No, you should remain outside of the classroom until the teacher has also entered the classroom.

Who are middle schoolers (6th, 7th, & 8th) graders an example for?

The entire school!!!! You hold the responsibility of showing everyone else in the school appropriate behavior in a school.
