How many STAAR tests will I take in 5th grade?
3. Reading, Math, and SCIENCE.

"Yes Yes"

What can I do to let my teacher know I need to use the restroom?
Give me the signal. Cross your fingers and wait for my response.
Do I need a transportation card during dismissal?
Yes! Same procedure as last year except bus riders will no longer need cards.
Will we be using chromebooks in class?
Yes!
Will we be doing anything fun in science outside of the classroom?
Yes! Demos, science lab, experiments & investigations, and class pets!
What should I do to let my teacher know I'm ready to transition to the next class?
Pack up belongings, clean up area, put head down on table, and be quiet.
What should I do when the lights go out in the cafeteria?
Finish eating your lunch, give me a thumbs up whenever you are ready to throw away your lunch, be quiet, head down on table, and you're ready for directions.
How much time do I have to eat breakfast?
~15 minutes
Where should you go if you want to read more about a science subject?
The bookshelf or the dry erase board. There's so many science topics to choose from!

What should I do if I don't have a pencil for class?
Your teacher has SOME extra sharpened pencils that you may borrow but they must be returned at the end of class.
What should I do when the whistle blows at recess?
Get down from equipment/put equipment away, kneel down, be quiet, wait for directions.
Which classroom do I go to in the morning after I get my breakfast?
Ms. Ro's homeroom = Mrs. Borrego's room

Where should you keep all of your supplies?
All 5th grade students will travel with their own supplies in backpacks.
Will there be classroom jobs in science?
Yes! New jobs every Monday!
What should I do if there is a piece of wadded up paper on the floor?
Pick it up! Your teacher will not dismiss you if your area is not neat and orderly.
