How do I receive mail?
Students receive mail at CPO which is our version of a postal office. It is on campus and each student has their own box and CPO number so that they can receive and send out mail. Students can receive and return Amazon packages at this location.

Can I have candles in my room?
No! You cannot use any heating elements in your room, including candles, microwaves, toasters, etc.
Where can I attend religious services?
The Campus Christian Center is an interfaith center on campus. It has chapel services in our on campus chapel weekly. Some of these are Christian lead, but the chapel is open for many different kinds of religious worship. There are also other churches in the area, such as Union Church.
Where can I go if I am struggling with balancing all my responsibilities?
There are tons of resources on campus including SST, DAS, Writing Resources, TA hours, office hours for individual professors, etc. that would be more than happy to help!
Where can I buy groceries?
We have a Walmart just outside of campus that the College offers shuttles to. There is also a Save-a-Lot a little further away that students with cars could travel to.
How do I get an ESA?
Students will need to have their licensed provider fill out paperwork for them stating the need for an ESA. This paperwork can be acquired and filed through DAS (Disability and Accessibility Services).
What type of visitation do halls have?
Most halls have 24/7 visitation, but there can be limitations of different genders visiting, it depends on the individual hall. Students in the first-year halls for the most part have 24/7 visitation. If the visitor is not a student they will need to register them as a guest at public safety.
What do I do if I don't have time for a meal?
Dining offers grab-and-go options from 12-1 for students who don't have time to eat between classes. Additionally, we also have different cafes on campus that offer food at different times.
Where should I go to talk about my academic transcripts?

What is there to do on-campus?
Our Campus Activities Board (CAB) organizes several events per semester that you can attend. In addition, we have numerous annual events, such as Mountain Day, that many students enjoy. You can also check Berea Engage to see what's going on!
Can I get single housing accommodations through DAS?
Yes! You will have to fill out the online application and meet with someone in DAS to obtain an accommodation. From there, DAS and Housing will work with you to get you a single.
What do I do if I get sick?
When students get sick or need dental care we have a partnership with the white house clinic. It is right behind campus and the health fee each student pays allows students to go an unlimited amount of times. Basic services like teeth cleanings and cavity fillings are also covered.
Can I take food out of the Dining Hall?
You can take food out of the Dining Hall using a green box, which is a to-go container that you purchase to use during a whole semester. These boxes can be used at specific times throughout the week.
How and when can I change my schedule?
You will have an opportunity to meet with your academic advisor during the Monday of Welcome Week
How often can I eat at Dining?
Students on the meal plan have unlimited swipes within the hours of the dining hall between 7 am-9 pm. Non-traditional students can opt out of the meal plan, or pay for a limited amount of swipes.
How can I waive the swim screening/Survival Swimming?
You will need to contact DAS in order to start this process. They have an online application that you can fill out to start this process, after which they should be able to help you with your next steps. You will need documentation from a licensed medical professional.

Does Berea fund study abroad programs?
Yes! You can study abroad through our Center for International Education, who recently was able to fund 50% of each trip abroad. You can also use your financial aid.

August 26th
How do I get involved in clubs and orgs?
We have many different clubs on campus with a wide range of topics as well as organizations such as the SGA (Student Government Association). You can join these clubs on Berea Engage and you will also have an opportunity to learn more during our Involvement Week!
What do I do if my labor position is inaccessible to me and I need an accommodation to switch positions?
The labor program will change your position, but they legally must require you to have accommodations on file through DAS. You can visit DAS's website to fill out the online application and follow the steps outlined there to get accommodations.
What do I do if I'm not getting along with my roommate?
If you aren't getting along with your roommate, you should first refer to the conflict mediation section of your roommate agreement to try to resolve it using the method you indicated. If that does not work, you can have a mediation with hall staff. In extreme cases, you could be moved to a different room/hall.
Are there opportunities for students to get involved in community service or volunteer work?
Yes! CELTS (Center for Excellence in Learning Through Service) provides students with opportunities to connect with the community through volunteer work.
