This person acts as the "quarterback" of the rugby team, their role is to transfer the ball between the forwards and the backs.

What is a scrum half?

Although they are a forward, this person is usually small. They are agile with their feet and play an important role in line outs.

What is a hooker?

This person is usually fast, strong, and powerful. They make many tackles but also play a key role in distributing the ball. Their position is interchangeable with the person beside them.
