Great question, first off- Transamerica has been in business for over a century so their chances of going under anytime soon is highly unlikely. However, every insurance company is backed by the state's life and health guaranty association, so if Transamerica were to not perform to the state's standard of excellence, the state will either take over their liabilities or in most cases, transfer the liabilities to another insurance company. Does that make sense?
