How can ADHD affect my hearing or processing of sounds?

A lot of people with ADHD may have trouble concentrating on the right sounds if other noises are in the background, such as a fan, talking, dripping faucet, or other background noise.  Some people struggle with auditory processing, meaning they may be very sensitive to some sounds, or have trouble processing sounds or language.

We think this may have something to do with the cerebellum, a part of your brain.  It can also be part of sensory needs, for a body that likes to get a lot of proprioceptive input (that means a body that likes to get a lot of stimulation to its muscles and joints).
