What is Day of Atonement, two goats were chosen. One was to be sacrificed to God, and the other was for the entire community to put their sins towards. The high priest went into the temple mount, in Jerusalem, and laid his hands over the goat and prayed. The innocent goat took all the sins away from the people and put it on itself. After, the animal was led out of town and the people would gear, and insult the goat until it left town, and the goat was never allowed to return.
