What Causes Day and Night on Earth?
Day and night are caused by Earth's rotation.
Earth spins on an imaginary line called the axis, which goes through the North and South Poles.
It takes about 24 hours for Earth to make one full rotation.
As Earth spins, one side faces the Sun, and it becomes daytime on that side.
The other side of Earth is in shadow and experiences night.
