There will be bellwork everyday, I expect that as soon as you enter my class you are working… if you feel you need to talk or take a moment BEFORE THE BELL RINGS to get yourself together, do that in the hall outside of my door… THIS DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE LATE TO CLASS.

You need to talk to me and also need to have all of your work for the unit turned in and of decent quality as well as have the study guide turned in... It really is not necessarily a yes or no...

What should you do if you have a different opinion than another person?
I ask that you are respectful to everyone... even if you completely disagree. You have a reason to have your opinion, another person has their reason. You do not have to love each other and agree with each other, but while you are in my class I ask that you are respectful to one another and are kind to one another!

AWESOME DAY: Treats for any classes with good/ positive notes from the substitute teacher... NOTE: You will also get more points towards reward day!!

Answer One: 1.) What can you expect if the whole class is off task? 2.) What can you expect if an individual is off task?
1.) Whole Class: One Minute to get on Task: The class gets one minute of time to get back on task. You may notice I stop talking and stare at the clock… I am keeping time. Any time over the minute is owed to me by the ENTIRE class BEFORE you go get lunch… the time to be served will start after everyone arrives and is in their seat how I expect class to look when we are on task. Yes, this means even three seconds if we get to 1:03 seconds… 2.) Individual: Think Basket: If I ask you to grab a “Think Basket”, I am more or less removing you from class and am giving you a last chance before you receive a responsibility slip or further. While there you may not talk to anyone… your job while there is to get a basket and following what is in the basket write what wasn’t working, and what you plan to do to fix it. Raise your hand when you are ready, (and I can come over→ During a video, during work time, etc), and we will both discuss… revise if needed, and then sign it. You will receive ONE warning before I ask you to do this… take my warning or this is the next step. I am really hoping that you will take the time to make a better choice so you are successful in my class. Full info provided in the basket.

What can you expect for NOT being on task and helpful for/ with a substitute teacher in class for the day?
If your name is written down negatively for any reason, you will have a responsibility slip turned in, a total of 3 hours outside of school to make up your detention, and a project to complete. You will be given 2 weeks to serve the detention time unless otherwise discussed

What can you expect if you (and the entire class) is on task?
To start the year→ “Thank You” for being ON TASK: Each person in class has the opportunity to earn a ticket during class each day, as long as at least 90% of the class receives a ticket we will get a point toward a reward day at the end of the quarter. Top ways you can earn a ticket: On task and working on bellwork at the start of class Participating in class On task during work time Being kind to one another Making a positive choice if you are done early (missing work, reading… ) NOTE: I will do my best to hand these out as appropriate, but each of the above is not always going to be a guarantee… I have final decision in handing out tickets. NOTE: I will need ticket collectors and you will get a thank you for helping!
