These berries provided the inspiration needed to plan the group’s first purely social gathering. They called it a “Strawberry Feast.” It was at that party that they group decided to become recognized.

What is ZTA's philanthropy?
Brest Cancer Education and Awareness; Although breast cancer education and awareness is ZTA's national philanthropy now, it was not the first philanthropic effort. In 1928, ZTA's first effort was the establishment of a health center to benefit rural communities in the Appalachian Mountains of Virgina. Over the years, ZTA has also worked with the Cerebral Palsy Division of the National Society for Crippled Children and Adults, Easter Seals, The ARC, and Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia; October 15, 1898; The founders were forced into action of formalizing their organization when Alice Coleman was offered a bid from another fraternity. The Farmville Four, fraternities founded at Longwood University, includes: Kappa Delta (1897), Sigma Sigma Sigma (1898), Zeta Tau Alpha (1898) and Alpha Sigma Alpha (1901), ZTA was the first to be chartered.

Neva Langley was Miss USA in 1953, the recipient of a Lady Bird Johnson Award, a Woman of the Year- Keep America Beautiful Commission, and an ADPi alumna of Florida Southern University.

It is published after each Grand Council meeting. The Delphi is a quarterly newsletter for alumnae associations and international officers.
