What is truth?

When we say a statement is true it corresponds to reality.

What evidence do we have that Jesus exists?

Textual evidence shows that the bible can be trusted and that Jesus' claims to divinity were not a later legend that was added to the bible.

Who began the Catholic faith?

Jesus established a church built on the apostles that included a hierarchy, or a sacred order, that included deacons, priests, and bishops.

How does faith work through love?

Salvation involves being united to Christ and adopted into God's family,where God freely rewards his children for the good works they do with the gift of grace.

What is heaven?

It is a state of perfect happiness where we will adore and rest in God for all eternity.

What is Science in the Catholic faith?

It is a tool we use to discover truths about reality, but it is not our only tool, because it is limited to describing the physical, natural world.

What is the ressurection? 

Jesus was crucified, buried, his tomb was found empty, his disciples saw him after his death, and they were willing to die for that truth.

Who was the first pope?

Jesus gave Peter special authority as the leader of both the apostles and the early Church.

Is the church free from sinners?

Jesus never promised that his Church would be free of sinners, only that it would provide the means to save sinners.

What are our beliefs on protecting life?

Catholics do not impose morality but principles that treat all human beings with dignity and respect.

How is God good?

God must be all good because, although he lacks nothing, evil is just an absents of God.

What is the trinity? 

The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are three distinct persons who share the same divine nature-each of them is God.

Why are priests men?

Jesus only called men to be apostles, and so the catholic priesthood only includes men.

Why does Mary have the closest relationship to God?

Of all God's creatures, Mary has the closest relationship with God because she gave birth to him.

What do Catholics believe about sexuality?

Our bodies are a temple of the Holy Spirit so we must treat it with respect.

The universe contains elements of design and is finite, which means it must have been created by a personal cause and not a mindless force.

What is the bible?

Christ established the Catholic Church to be the custodian of his revelation, and from it we have the Bible the Christians read today.

What does baptism do?

It takes away sin, unites us with Christ, and makes us members of his body, the Church.

Who belong to the one body of Christ?

The bible teaches there is one body of Christ and the saints in heaven belong to it.

Why is there hell?

Since God is love, he never forces anyone to love or obey him, but allows those people to live apart from him for all eternity.

How does God conquer evil?

A good being can allow evil to exist if he uses that evil to bring about greater good.

Is our religion based on just scripture?

One tradition that both Protestants and Christians believe in is the canon of Scripture.

Why do we celebrate the Eucharist during mass. 

Jesus is the new Passover lamb who was sacrificed to take away the sin of the world.

What happens when we sin?

Sin causes both a temporal and eternal harm to our souls that must be purged before we enter into heaven.

What does marriage mean to Catholics?

It is not a legal contract between two adults, but a sacred covenant between man and woman that, between baptized Christians, is an indissoluble union.
