In these places, the air is cool most of the year. The temperature can be very cold up high. Some high places have ice or snow all year. It is too cold for plants and trees to grow there. It's not as cold at the bottom, plants and trees grow there. Goats live on these places. People like to ski here.

You will not get wet here. These places are very dry. They do not get much rain and the sun shines on most days. The temperature can be hot or cold. There are not many clouds. Scorpians live here. The plants here do not need much water.

This is a seashore animal with a soft body and a hard shell. The shell can be many colors. It eats animals such as barnacles, limpets and mussels. It's hard shell keeps it safe, but other aniamls such as crabs or birds can eat it.

These non living things come from the Earth. They are natural resources and can come in different shapes and sizes. Big ones are called boulders and small ones are called pebbles. Sand is tiny peices of this broken up.

This animal has a shell that is in two parts. It lives with other animals that are the same. They live on the sand under the water and eat algae. Sea birds and sea stars eat these.

This is a small, slow animal. They can move in any direction and do not have to turn to move. They eat worms, mussels and creatures with shells. Some can push their stomachs out of their mouths. Some fish and crustaceans eat these.

This attracts some types of metal. Attract means to pull toward. Sometimes they also repel, which means to push away. These have two ends, called poles. Opposite poles attract, the same poles repel.
