Bush v. Gore (2000) ruled that the Florida recount of votes violated the 14th amendment and declared George W. Bush President. U.S. v. Nixon (1974) involved the Watergate Scandal in which burglars broke into the democratic headquarters at the Watergate hotel a few months before the presidential election. The Supreme Court's unanimous decision in the case limited the powers of the executive branch.
