When a child gives a nonverbal response (e.g., demonstration or pointing) for an item on Vocabulary, I do this.
What is query with "Tell me in words what (a, an) [insert stimulus word] (is, means)." Score 0 if no verbal response is given.
After the Sample Items on Matrix Reasoning, this is the standardized instructions.
What is, "Which one here goes here?" with pointing.
If the child asks me to repeat a trial on Digit Span, I do this.
