VCR Tracker
The Montgomery GI Bill® - Active-Duty Educational Assistance Program, also known as MGIB-AD, provides education benefits to Veterans and Service members who have at least two years of active duty. Monthly Stipend
Ch 30
These students are not eligible for their MHA if their enrollment falls under 7 credits during the semesters of fall and spring (for undergraduate students).

The Survivors' and Dependents' Educational Assistance Program, also known as DEA, offers education and training opportunities to eligible dependents of Veterans who are permanently and totally disabled due to a service-related condition or dependents of Veterans who died while on active duty or as a result of a service-related condition. This table shows that the VA recognizes that summer terms are typically shorter, so they modified the full-time status requirement to reflect the change in length of term. *Note*: In-person class required throughout the ENTIRE enrollment period.

Scenarios of meeting modified full-time status in the summer
9 credits in full term
3 credits each term (full term,1st half, 2nd half) = 9 credits
6 credits each term (1st half & 2nd half) = 12 credits
This is how often snacks should be stocked during the week.
Monday morning and ONLY if needed on Wednesday.
Under these benefit types, recipients are allotted ONLY a monthly stipend. The stipend is disbursed directly to the Student.

If I am taking classes in the summer and was in 1 (3 credit) class in the full term and 1 (3 credit class in the second term, am I considered full-time for the entire semester?
No

Under these benefit types, recipients’ received multiple stipends; Tuition - paid directly to the university (based on the benefit percentage), Book Stipend - paid directly to the student (spring/Fall) (if applicable for this chapter), and Monthly Housing Allowance(MHA) - paid directly to the student (for each month enrolled in the semester).

The program is available for Florida National Guard Soldiers and Airmen and can provide public tuition for the period of the Guard member’s service.

The Post- 9/11 GI Bill®, is an education benefit program for individuals who served on active duty after September 10, 2001.
