1. Lock out tag out steps
(1) Notify everyone in the affected area that the equipment will be locked out.
(2) Turn Off- the equipment.
(3) Isolate- from energy source by putting the disconnect in the "OFF" position.
(4) Lock: After all energy sources for the equipment you are going to work on have been eliminated, you are ready to apply your lock(s).
(5) Verify- Lockout by one of the following:
(a) Check that the disconnect being locked out is attached to the motor of the equipment to be worked on.
(b) Check for matching labels on disconnect and conveyor drive.
(c) Press the start button to attempt restart.
(d) Lockout the entire conveyor system at the conveyor main disconnect. Verify Lockout by observing that the disconnect is labeled "CONVEYOR SYSTEM MAIN DISCONNECT" or similar wording.
