Moisture barrier that inhibits fungal growth and treats candidiasis (with 2% miconazole nitrate) while protecting against urine and feces. Needs MD order.
Remedy Antifungal
Provides full antimicrobial contact with wound base, donates moisture without causing maceration, and reduces bioburden. Available in supply rooms on units.
Silver Gel
Used prophylactically and as a secondary dressing. Provides protection and cushion to bony prominences and protects against shearing. Do not apply with cream/ointment, it can trap excessive moisture and places the patient at risk for MRSD.

Phytoplex Nourishing Cream
Topical antimicrobial drug used to prevent and treat wound sepsis. Apply as 1/16 inch thickness to wound. Needs MD order.

Wound cleaner. Wet to dry dressings. Biocompatible, safe, effective. Mimics the normal pH of human skin. Cleanses, debrides and removes microorganisms form wound. Requires MD order.

Comfort glide and wedges
Moisture barrier that adheres to intact and denuded skin. Contains menthol and zinc Oxide. Available in supply rooms on units.
Calazime
Absorbs up to 150ml/hr wound exudate, locks that fluid away from the wound, and will selectively debride slough tissue from wound base. Available in supply rooms on units.
Drawtex
Debrides wounds with slough tissue faster than autolytic debridement. Does not have antimicrobial properties, which is why we often use in conjunction with Vashe. Needs MD order.
