What is figurative language?
Figurative language is when you use a word or phrase that does not have its normal everyday, literal meaning.

What is a flashback?

What is indirect characterization
the process by which the writer shows the character's personality through speech, actions and appearance.
What is the exposition?
exposition of a story is the opening part in which the audience is introduced to the characters and their situation.
What is third person point of view
Writing in third person is writing from the third-person point of view, or outsider looking in, and uses pronouns like he, she, it, or they.

What is foreshadowing?
Foreshadowing is an advance sign or warning of what is to come in the future.

Direct characterization tells you directly about the characters traits.

Rising action in a plot is a series of relevant incidents that create suspense, interest, and tension in a narrative

the use of symbols to represent ideas or qualities.
What is a dynamic character?
A character who undergoes an important inner change, as a change in personality or attitude

the most intense, exciting, or important point of something
What is first person point of view?
first person is someone telling you his or her story

It usually describes a narrative that begins, not at the beginning of a story, but somewhere in the middle — usually at some crucial point in the action.
Whats a foil character?
a foil is a character who contrasts with another character, usually the protagonist, to highlight particular qualities of the other character
What is denouement?
the final part of a play, movie, or narrative in which the strands of the plot are drawn together and matters are explained or resolved.
The narrator’s relationship to the story is determined by point of view. Each viewpoint allows certain freedoms in narration while limiting or denying others.
