How do we do SMART Goals in YES Club?
Student sets up individual meeting time with Mr. Lanning once per marking period to discuss academics and agree on a goal together.
What is a reward outing?
A fun field trip that students get to go on for passing all of their classes
What is the PAVE program?
Once a month, YES students get the opportunity to volunteer at the PAVE afterschool program at the middle school to help students with homework, games, and serve as good role models.
Can I get out of study hall and instead do homework with Mr. Lanning in his quiet room?
Students can get a pass to see Mr. Lanning for study halls, lunch, and c-pass

What is the BUS Bucks program?
Partnership with Binghamton University to pay students $1/day that students are marked present in school. Up to $250/year.

Can my friend join YES Club?
As long as a student gets the okay from an administrator (principal, guidance counselor, social worker), a student can join YES

Can I still join YES if I play in a sport?
YES. As long as you come see Mr. Lanning throughout the week for updates and meet once per Marking Period.
What is the Big Ticket Prize?
A large gift for a student who has shown the best holistic academic performance and presence in YES Club over the Marking Periods 1-3 and the whole year.
We join the Newark Valley program and spend extra $ on a reward outing-type field trip that is fun and lasts the entire day, usually on a Saturday in June. We usually take a charter bus. Ideas for this year include Darien Lake or SeaBreeze.

Can Mr. Lanning join in on a class if you need him to?
Yes. As long as the teacher is okay with it, Mr. Lanning can spend time in a class to help out.
Does Mr. Lanning take snack requests when he goes to buy snacks?
Yes. Mr. Lanning has the best snacks in the whole school and will try to get requested snacks when he goes shopping. No promises though.
