FALSE 1) We want YLC members who are truly committed to our mission and our program. We build a team and rely on every member to make this a successful program. 2) We do not meet often, so if you miss a meeting or a planned activities - you miss out on an opportunity to sign up to lead activities, get updates, get skills necessary to prepare you for college/career, and most important you miss an opportunity to work with people who really rely on you and depended on you to be there.

FALSE; In YLC we look for initiative. We welcomed you into the program because we saw your potential. This is an opportunity or you to develop skills you will need when you get to college or the workplace. In college, If you missed a class, it is not expected for the professor to contact you about what you missed. Initiative is what many employers are looking for and will stand out when doing reference checks.

False; YLC is an opportunity or you to develop skills necessary for college or the workplace. At a real workplace, you would not be allowed to tell your coworker to pass the message to the supervisor that you cannot make it to work. You have to reach out to the advisor in charge directly, and in a timely and appropriate manner.
