What is the process when someone comes to pick up a child?
Check ID of the person. If they are on the list, they may pick up the child. If they are not, they can not pick up the child.
Where should you position yourself during program hours?
This can be visible if appropriate
Name the steps of a missing child.
One staff sits all children down and does a roster check (calling all names and waiting for response) Once that is completed they need to keep children calm and occupied. All children need to stay seated until the other child is located. The other staff need to check all the last locations and frequent areas (restroom, gym, cafe, etc.) Call program director.
Describe the process of administering medication at site
- Medicine should be in a lockbox with a key that is unreachable for children
- Medicine should be given by YMCA staff member
-Staff member should watch child the entire time medicine is being taken
-Med form should be filled out correctly after medicine is administered
What needs to be done every half hour or every transition?
