 As the interviewer narrows a question, the amount of data decreases. As the amount of data decreases, the interviewer control increases, therefore less time and skill are required, and the degree of precision, reliability, and reproducibility increases. On the other hand, as the question opens up, the data may increase, therefore the interviewee may reveal knowledge, understanding and hidden motives.

 Interviewee presented areas of both good and bad first impression. It was a bad impression to address a superior by first name and she bragged about her achievements. However, it was good to give a firm handshake and sit attentive.  The interviewer presented a bad first impression. By addressing the idea that you can be easily replaced made the interviewee feel uneasy and her self-esteem lowered.
