What is the Tag (#) button used for in DCC 2.0?

A tag is a free-text label that users can add to a project or to a company. You can easily find projects that have had a tag applied. There are three options for tags: private, shared with company, or shared with specific users. By sharing a tag, you can draw attention to a specific project or company either to an individual or to the whole company. For example, a user can create a tag for "AngelinaWorkQueue" and share that tag with Angelina. Whenever the user finds a job that Angelina should look at, they can tag it with "AngelinaWorkQueue".  Angelina can define a search that looks for projects that have been tagged with that to see her work queue.

What is the best way for a GC to utilize 2.0, please explain best practices.

To maximize the benefits of DCC 2.0, general contractors (GCs) should follow these best practices. First, set up saved searches tailored to the types of projects typically bid on, leveraging new search fields like pre-bid meeting dates. Use Quick View to swiftly review search results, accessing key project details without opening each project page. When a suitable project is found, tag and follow it. Tagging facilitates easy future searches and team collaboration, while following ensures updates appear in the user's newsfeed. Issue Invitations to Bid (ITBs) through OneTeam to efficiently connect with subcontractors in the Blue Book network. Additionally, GCs can perform company searches within the Blue Book network to find the right subcontractors for specific trades. Finally, utilize the Dodge Report (DR) for comprehensive access to all project-specific details, including plans, specs, and addenda, ensuring thorough preparation for bids. This structured approach enhances efficiency and project management.

What does "Focused" and "Other" mean, in the ITB Inbox?

ITB rules are used to classify the ITBs as “Focused” or “Other” and are set in the Settings page.

“Focused” being ITBs the subcontractor is likely to bid on (ITBs I care about)

“Other” being ITBs the subcontractor is not likely to bid on

What is the "Project by product" feature - is this 2.0's version of SpecAlerts?

Projects by product has a similar end goal to SpecAlerts, but does not rely on the searches defined up front by SpecAlerts. Instead, as the projects are automatically scraped by our internal software, that software finds keyword sequences that may specify a product. We manually associate those keywerd sequences with a manufacturer, which DCC 2 uses to show Projects by Product. SpecAlerts requires up-front work to define the searches that imply a DR has a reference to a product so it is more work to set up than Projects by Product, but it's also less reliable.
