The Bar for excellence might as well be On The Floor with this level 10 Synchro that actually just got axed on the most recent ban list. Guess that generic negate was just too good for the game.
Baronne de Fleur
It's like Negate Attack, but worse, as it just gains you LP and doesn't end the Battle Phase! It is an icon of Playground Yugioh though, even if it isn't that great nowadays.
Draining Shield
Kaiju
Kaiju Movies and Ultraman
This Rank 4 Dragon XYZ can make quick work of any monster that can be targeted by halving the target's attack and taking that reduction and adding it to its own power. A true staple for Rank 4 Toolbox decks.
Dark Rebellion XYZ Dragon
The Creator God of Light, Horakhty
Divine Attribute
Okay, what makes this iconic Insect Flip Monster a Wind Attribute? Does hating Level 4 monsters have something to do with the wind, 'cause it just seems kind of random.
4-Starred Ladybug of Doom
Bet you didn't remember that this Duel Dragon even had a LP gain effect in there after popping a Field Spell. I don't blame you, there's like 4 effects in this card from like 2009.
Ancient Fairy Dragon
Kozmo
The Wizard of Oz and Star Wars
This Level 8 Dark Dragon can't be destroyed by card effects, and can add Dark Hole from deck at the End Phase, which with its summon condition of a monster dying by card effect, easy to summon from hand or graveyard.
Dark Hole Dragon
Dark Driceratops
Earth Attribute
This fusion of two of Joey's iconic monsters, this Level 5 Fusion can attack directly if the opponent has only Earth, Fire or Water Monsters.
Alligator's Sword Dragon
Let the man cook! This continuous spell is flexible in being able to heal or harm based on the amount of counters it accumulates over the turns
Cauldron of the Old Man
Inzektor
Super Sentai Fighters, most specifically Kamen Rider
This Fusion that requires Dark Magician doesn't have the name in print or effect text, which makes it just worse than the other DM dragon fusion using Eye of Timaeus, since it doesn't get the Eternal Soul protection.
Amulet Dragon
Dark Bat
Wind Attribute
DOUBLE JEOPARDY!
This Goat era fusion monster (that is weirdly treated as an Archfiend card) doesn't really look like it should be a Wind attribute, but I guess it was a coin flip of the attributes from its fusion materials, being a Wind Level 4 Dragon that gets lazy when another Dragon is on your field and a Level 5 Dark Fiend that banishes what it battles.
This card is anything but the name implies, as it makes you gain 300 LP every time your opponent summons a monster, and if you get above 10,000 LP, it makes your monsters indestructible by battle.
Child's Play
Flower Cardians
Hanafuda Cards and Combos
Seriously, why does she have such child-bearing hips and handles to hold on to?!
Anyways, this Level 8 Light Dragon can add Polymerization or a ritual Spell when Special Summoned, and during your End Phase can add a Level 8 Dragon from Deck. Pretty good, but not usually played at all, or more than 1 if so.
Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon
Manticore of Darkness
Fire Attribute
A female Level 4 Winged Beast that has the less used effect of the 3 of her trio by negating Flip Effects when it battles.
Harpie Lady #2
If you thought Draining Shield was bad, this Trap card doesn't even negate the attack! So all you're doing is essentially negating the attack with extra steps.
It also has weird wording, as it says: "Increase your Life Points by the ATK of 1 attacking monster." Like they imply that you can be attacked by more than one monster at a time!?
Enchanted Javelin
D/D/D (Different Dimension Demons)
Business Executive Positions, Historical Scientists, Mythological Creatures and Historical Conquerors/Rulers
This card was only seen in the first episode of Arc V, as it very quickly got a lot of armor and is often referred to as the "peeled" version of the Pendulum Monster we know and... know.
Odd-Eyes Dragon
DOUBLE JEOPARDY!
Beetrooper Light Flapper
