He should eat breakfast at school, even if it's something little. Remember you can't get up and do anything until everyone is done taking the test, that includes eating! The last thing you want is your stomach rumbling during the test!

False; once you finish your test, you have to sit at your desk quietly until everyone else is done. No talking and no games, so you might as well take your time and try your best!

Once you are finished, you are not allowed to do anything until everyone in your class has finished. Your teacher will have things for you to keep you busy like coloring sheets or word searches. Now is also the one time that you can get away with taking a nap in class!
Katie struggles with reading and is having a hard time answering questions based on a story she just read. What should she do?
Read the question you are being asked and look for those words in the story and underline/highlight them. Chances are the answer is right near those key words.
Example: If the story is asking you about a boy named Fred, look where the story talks about Fred.
The state test determines whether or not I pass 4th grade.
False; only your grades determine whether or not you pass. The state test just gives your teachers and the state a better idea of what you have learned and what we need to do better next year.

Writer's block happens to everyone (even adults!) Use your scratch paper and write some ideas down as you think of them. Remember that anything that has been written has taken some time to actually write it so take your time!

These questions can have multiple answers. If this is the case, read the question and each answer carefully. It will allow you to select more than one answer.

Take a deep breath and don't panic! This test only measures a few things about you, not everything. Remember that you are more than this test, and that you know more than you think. This is your time to show off everything you know!
Similar to a regular test I would take in class, I only have a certain amount of time to take the state test.
