In the Renaissance, literature involved religion, historical and social issues which were under human analysis. It examines society by groups on class, occupation, function, status and other designations. Science and investigation gave rise to Humanism, which asserted the value of man, his dignity, and his lack of limitations. Catholicism was challenged by the protestants and a new way of studying the Bible.
