Uterine Rupture
Acute rupture of the uterus
Prolonged labor, trauma, previous c-section
Sudden abdominal pain, vaginal bleeding pause of labor, rigid abdomen
Preeclampsia/ Eclampsia
Gestational hypertension
Family history, chronic hypertension (over 35 y/o)
Headache, edema (legs/feet), blurry vision, abdominal pain
Ectopic Pregnancy (1st trimester)
The ovum is implanted in the wrong place, typically the fallopian tubes. Will cause rupture/ hemorrhage/ lethal.
Pelvic inflammatory disease, intrauterine contraception devices, previous surgeries
Abdominal pain, vaginal bleeding, amenorrhea (lack of menstruation)
Abruptio Placentae (3rd Trimester)
Full/ partial detachment of the placenta, too early during 3 trimester
Hypertension, meth/ cocaine use
Abdominal pain w/dark vaginal bleeding
Placenta Previa (3rd trimester)
Placenta is placed fully/ partial covering the cervical opening
Previous C-Section, “grand multipara” -multiple live births
Bright red vaginal bleeding, usually no pain
