What is the short term?
Changes or forces that can significantly affect an organization's future.
What are strategic drivers?
“Who else will this decision affect?” addresses this characteristic of strategic leadership.

A great strategy means very little if the organization cannot do this.

What is organizational change?
Employees hit their individual goals, but those goals don't contribute to the organization's strategy. The organization is missing this.

Strategic thinking requires organizations to recognize that prioritizing one thing often means giving up something else.
What are trade-offs?
Two competitors recognize exactly the same industry driver but respond differently. This illustrates that strategic leadership ultimately requires this.

A CEO considers how closing a factory would affect employees, customers, suppliers, and the local community.
