It is imperative that radio discipline is practiced at all times, especially during a “mayday” incident: How can that be accomplished?
Stop all unnecessary radio traffic immediately
The I/C will advise all companies not involved in the “mayday” to switch to an alternate fire ground frequency and then perform a PAR.
Advise all fireground companies and Chief Officers to switch to alternate radio frequency (e.g. from FG ____ to FG______)

Incident Command (I/C) will assign the following at all working fire incidents:

Ambulance crew shall act as “Two-Out” team for interior fire attack crew on initial General Alarm/Code 4 response, until second ambulance arrives.

RIC STAGING & SIZE UP
The RIC Group Chief and/or RIC 1 Company Officer will report directly to the I/C and set up RIC staging. The staging area is best determined by:
Size and type of structure
Location of the fire and heaviest concentration of firefighters.
Accessibility to building entrances.
