What are some strategies we can use if a classmate says something that causes us to become upset?
Take a deep breath, walk away, tell Ms. Khan, politely express that it bothers you.

What should you do if Ms. Khan calls on someone else?

Why is it important to check your work once you are finished?

'Paul's' classmate 'Joe' keeps on trying to take his seat on the carpet, and as a result Paul becomes visibly angry and shouts at 'Joe.' If you knew 'Paul' in real life, what advice would you give him on how to handle the situation better next time?
Encourage him to talk to the teacher, propose taking turns using the spot, talk to him and ask if there is a reason (i.e. he is having trouble seeing the board)

1) Ask Maria why she was sitting there.
2) Ask Ms. Khan if there is a reason.
3) If he is not actually assigned the seat, others have a right to sit there. In this case, he could consider trying out another seat.
4) Express to Maria why he needs the seat (i.e. I need to sit closer to the board because I have trouble seeing/ I become distracted).
