An applicant is eligible for caregiver supports if: 

o an applicant’s capability assessment identifies caregiver fatigue; the level of care and/or supervision required is consistent with admission to an institution, community or long-term care facility; o daily physical assistance of another person for most ADLs; o direction and supervision during the performance of most ADLs; o daily supervision and is not considered safe when left alone;

Permanent resident of Prince Edward Island, under the age of 65, substantial impairment/qualified diagnosis, health report, deemed eligible by committee based off the health or other medical documentation and have to receive a funding level based off assessment.

-When no other supports are available

-When natural support is trained/performed in said support 

-When outlined in the capabilities assessment.

Can AAS support a Home Modification for a client's grandparent?

AAS provides funding for modifications or fixed additions to the primary residence of an applicant essential to the applicant remaining in the home. Where the primary residence is owned by the applicant’s parent, guardian, spouse, or relative, home modifications may be approved where the parent, guardian, spouse, or relative resides in the home.
