If a client is taking HAART drugs and is also taking other medications. What should the nurse do relating to these medications?
The nurse needs to check that there are no drug interactions. The client should bring in the other medications so the nurse can check them against the HAART therapy. Many of the HIV drugs are involved in interactions and may necessitate alternate therapy.
*****HAART must be taken as prescribed. Their ability to fight the virus depends on adequate dosing. No current drug kills HIV.
